Grand Pier Topping Out Ceremony
February saw the ’Topping Out Ceremony’ carried out on Weston super Mare’s Grand Pier. The re-building of the famous landmark, which was devastated by fire in July 2008, is now well on the way and scheduled to re-open this summer. Ceremony Details

Open Cockpit Day
Climb into the cockpit of a helicopter and be shown the controls by an experienced guide. For the really adventurous, helicopter experience flights commence at 2pm for 15 mile flights around Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding coastline. 14 Feb Helicopter Museum. .

Weston-super-Mare Farmers’ Market
held every month and sells local goods produced by farmers in North Somerset. The market is held on the second Saturday of every month from 9am-12.30pm in the High Street and offers a wide range of products including meat, dairy produce, vegetables, handmade chocolates, cider and craft gifts.
