School of Health and Social Care - Oxford Brookes University 

The School of Health and Social Care provides foundation, diploma and degree courses for those wishing to gain their first qualification in health or social care. We also have an extensive range of Continuing Professional Development post-qualifying, postgraduate and research courses.

About the school
The school has been a provider of professional health care education since the 1920s. We have 11 courses specifically designed for those wishing to achieve a first registration / qualification in a health or social care profession. We offer first qualifications in Nursing, (Adult, Children’sMental Health), Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Operating Department Practice, Osteopathy, Physiotherapy and Social Work .

We also offer Foundation Degrees in Health and Social Care and Paramedic Emergency Care (please note that the Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care course does not lead to a professionally recognised qualification).

We also have an extensive portfolio of post-qualification, postgraduate courses and research activity.

Ferndale Campus, Swindon
Based in a Victorian building on Ferndale Road, Swindon, the School of Health and Social Care at Oxford Brookes University has been teaching three year Adult Nursing Degree and Diploma courses at its Ferndale Campus in Swindon since 1999. Together with our Operating Department Practice course, we have a flourishing student community that is continuing to grow.

The Campus is developing a growing range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses, including a Return to Practice course for previously qualified health care professionals wishing to return to the appropriate part of the Nursing and Midwifery Council register and enter clinical practice.

We offer a really friendly and supportive environment in which to learn. We have comfortable and state-of-the-art teaching facilities, an operating theatre and clinical skills suites equipped with the latest simulation resources and models. We have a refectory and fully networked computers with internet access.

We are also unique in having our own osteopathic training clinic on site that offers a comprehensive range of services to staff, students and the public.
