Flying Saucers, located just off the Clifton Triangle (South), is Bristol’s newest and largest Painting Pottery Café – a place where you go and pick a plain piece of ready made but un-glazed pottery and paint it with your own design.
Pottery painting is the perfect activity to keep all ages entertained from siblings to grandparents. No experience is necessary, and it’s really easy to create a beautiful and original item, whatever your age or artistic ability. Best of all we do the washing up and you get something to keep and treasure! All functional items such as mugs, bowls and vases are fully usable as they are professionally glazed, making perfect presents.
How it works Choose from over 100 blank items including plates, bowls, mugs, tea pots or even a piggy bank, unicorn, fairy, dinosaur or gnome. Then decide how you’ll paint it using our brushes or sponge stamps - our staff will help with advice. We have books and ideas for inspiration too if you’re stuck. Have a drink & a snack whilst you create your masterpiece. Your pottery is then professionally glazed and fired for you to collect a few days later, and keep a lifetime!

We have worked with corporate groups of 6 - 60 in our spacious studio and can design a pottery painting session tailored to your company’s aims, size and needs. Recent clients include KPMG, The Environment Agency, The University of Bristol and Studio Six.
