Places of Interest and Day's Out We are extremely lucky in the South West as not only do we have fabulous coastlines and sandy beaches but nearby Towns and Cities offer beautiful architecture, stunning scenery and plenty of things that are something a little out of the ordinary... there are so many places to visit on whatson that it will more than keep you occupied and on your toes. Take a look at what's on offer and choose the place that speaks to you. Why not start with a day out at one of the nearby aviation museums, visit the "Witch of Wookey" at Wookey Hole Caves, or why not visit Cheddar and see the famous Cheddar Cheese being made? Then there's the seaquarium the only aquarium in the area with a large array of marine life from starfish to sharks, rays to eels. You can visit one of the many museums in and around Weston, take a walk on the Grand Pier or hop on the land train which takes you from one end of the pier to the other, then there's Brean Down which is also a Bird Sanctuary and there are many coastal walks. If you are normally a city dweller you will love a day out at Court Farm just a short ride from Weston The farm offers over 25,000sq ft of undercover attractions, playgrounds, and of course, hands on experiences with the many animals on the farm. In July you can visit their maze which is set in eight acres and, at a height of eight feet comes complete with bridges and towers Last year two Dutch sculptors created a 11ft high sand sculpture of King Kong, this year the sculptors will be back on the beach lawns with a new theme- watch this space! Places of Interest in Weston Super Mare and the surrounding areas offers a comprehensive guide of what do and where to go not only in Weston but also in the nearby towns and cities. Whether you are looking for a day out with your family, or you are on holiday and looking for places of interest to visit it's all here, from the Roman Baths in Bath, Aviation Museums in Somerset, Steam Railways in Wiltshire, Caves in Somerset or gardens in Oxon/glGloucestershire our list just goes on and on. |
