About Weston Town Centre Partnership
The Weston Town Centre Partnership is the action-orientated initiative formed in 1998 as Weston’s Town Centre Management Partnership, that brings together private and not for profit sectors to improve the town centre and promote Weston to itself and others.
Amongst the projects and efforts of the WTCP over the past couple of years is the co-ordination of the Christmas Illuminations, management of Storenet & Nitenet (town radio link system) and the provision of consultative works for numerous town centre enhancement projects.
For the first time in the partnerships history there will be a team of three. Steve Townsend was appointed in August 2005 as Town Centre Manager and brings with him over 15 years of marketing experience and the advantage of having worked in most of the major seaside towns along the South Coast. Beverley Tucker joined the WTCP as Assistant to the Town Centre Manager in November 2005. Beverley has previously worked in the Sovereign Centre Management Suite and her core duty is to manage the Town Centre Street Scene Environment in conjunction with North Somerset Council. David Gwynne is the Weston Business Crime Reduction Coordinator, retiring from Avon & Somerset Police Force after 30 years service and will ensure that radio link goes from strength to strength.
It’s a tough time for retailers at the moment, Weston-super-Mare being no exception, but by working together we can strive to generate footfall and encourage potential buyers by organizing events and promotions.
Don’t forget to contact our office which is now located at the Winter Gardens on 01934 417117 if you have any promotional ideas, or wish to join the WTCP and make a contribution to the future success of Weston-super-Mare.
