Bristol & Clifton Golf Club

Bristol & Clifton is a beautiful, undulating, country golf course of distinctive character, established in 1891. It is situated just 4 miles from Bristol and only a short drive from Brunel’s famous Clifton Suspension Bridge.

You will find here the epitome of an English Members’ golf club. We welcome all visitors to our club. We will try to provide you with all the comforts of your own club whilst always looking after our own members. If you wish to join then please contact the Managing Secretary or see the Membership Golf-Ball for details, there are at present a few vacancies.

If you wish to practice or have a lesson, there are four different practice areas.

A main area with eight driving bays. A practice ground long enough to hit all clubs and where players use their own balls. A new chipping green with a USGA base, which is large enough for 6 pin placements at a time and has bunkers, mounds and hollows to practice chipping from. A pitching green to hit into from up to 100 yards and of course the putting green beside the clubhouse.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

Total playing membership is restricted to 643 playing members of various categories.

Normally we require two existing members of the Club to sponsor a new applicant. However if you are new to the area we are very happy to accept a letter of introduction from any previous club. Those sponsoring, should have been members of the Club for at least two years.

Men
The men’s section has competitions on most weekends. When held on a Saturday the tee is reserved until 2:00pm. In the summer a medal is held every Wednesday so that members have a mid week chance to enter a competition - there is no tee reservation, it is a case of roll up and play!

Ladies
There are some 100+ playing lady members. Ladies’ competitions are held on most Tuesday’s throughout the year, and alternate days take place at the weekend. Ladies have full playing rights on the course.
