Weston has 2 piers - The Grand Pier which is one of the last piers to be built and was Weston’s leading attraction as a family amusement park, a catastrophic fire tore through the Grand Pier pavilion at around 7am on the 28th July and within a couple of hours has completely destroyed the Pavilion on the end of the pier .The first fire on the pier occurred in 1930, it took three years to rebuild and has been a firm favourite since then.

Kerry and Michelle Michael purchased the pier earlier in 2008 from the Brenner family and havdinvesd huge amounts of their own time and money into regenerating the pier, the fire that occurred in July 2008 was a huge blow not only to the Michael family but to the resort itself. Michele Michael has confirmed that the new pier will be rebuilt and will be a bigger and more exciting all year round attraction for locals and visitors alike and will re-open in the summer of 2010- you  can keep up todate , read all the latest news and history of the Grand Pier…
